Medical Leave of Absence (Partially Paid)
The following information outlines the eligibility criteria, required documents, compensation, and application procedures for medical leave of absence for faculty members.
1. Medical Leave of Absence
- Faculty members may apply for medical leave of absence when medical treatment due to illness or injury is expected to exceed sixty (60) days.
- The maximum duration of medical leave of absence is up to one (1) year.

2. Compensation During Medical Leave
- In accordance with Article 43 of the Woosong Foundation Bylaws, faculty members on medical leave of absence shall receive fifty percent (50%) of their regular salary during the leave period.
- However, in cases of medical leave due to tuberculosis-related illness,
eighty percent (80%) of the regular salary shall be paid during the leave period.
Leave Application Procedure
1. As faculty leave directly affects departmental academic operations,
faculty members are required to consult in advance with the Department Chair or Dean regarding their leave plan.
2. Prepare the required documents and submit the medical leave application to the relevant department office.
3. The department will process the leave request through the electronic approval system, and the approval will be forwarded to the Office of Human Resources.
4. The leave application must be submitted at least one (1) month prior to the intended start date of the leave.
Return-to-Work Application
Faculty members must submit a return-to-work application at least one (1) month before the expiration of the leave period.
