F-3 (Dependent Family) Electronic Visa (e-Visa) Information
for Family Members of Foreign Faculty at Woosong University
This page provides information on the F-3 (Dependent Family) Electronic Visa (e-Visa) application process for eligible family members of foreign faculty members appointed at Woosong University.
All visa-related matters are governed by Korean immigration laws and regulations and are subject to change. Final approval of visa issuance and entry is determined by the Korean Immigration Service.
1. F-3 (Dependent Family) Visa Eligibility
The F-3 (Dependent Family) visa is issued to immediate family members of a foreign national holding a valid long-term visa in Korea (such as an E-1 Professor visa).
Eligible family members include:
- Legally married spouse
- Unmarried minor children
Eligibility is subject to verification by Korean immigration authorities.
2. Electronic Visa (e-Visa) Application Procedure
Woosong University applies for the F-3 visa through the electronic visa issuance system of the Korean Immigration Service on behalf of eligible dependents.
1) Submission of Required Documents
The principal visa holder (E-1) submits the required documents for accompanying family members to Woosong University.
2) Electronic Visa Application
Woosong University applies for the F-3 (Dependent Family) electronic visa to the Korean Immigration Office.
3) Approval of Electronic Visa
Once the application is approved, an Electronic Visa Approval Notice is issued.
4) Entry into Korea (No Embassy Visit Required)
With the approved electronic visa, the dependent family member(s) may enter Korea directly without visiting a Korean Embassy or Consulate. The electronic visa approval will be verified by immigration officers upon arrival.
5) Alien Registration after Arrival
Family members staying in Korea for more than 90 days must apply for an Alien Registration Card (ARC) at the local Immigration Office.
3. Required Documents
(Documents may vary depending on nationality and individual circumstances)
Documents to Be Submitted for Each Dependent
- Copy of passport of each accompanying family member
- JPEG photograph of each accompanying family member (passport-style)
- Apostilled family relationship certificate verifying family relationship
(e.g. marriage certificate or birth certificate)
- Letter of Guarantee
4. Important Notes
- Family relationship documents issued outside South Korea must be apostilled or consularly authenticated, in accordance with Korean immigration regulations.
- Documents not written in Korean or English must be accompanied by an official translation.
- Additional documents may be requested during the review process.
- The F-3 visa does not permit employment in S. Korea without separate authorization.
