Report of Workplace Change
for Foreign Faculty with an E-1 (Professor) Visa at Woosong University
This page provides information on the mandatory report of a workplace change for foreign faculty members holding an E-1 (Professor) visa who change their place of employment to Woosong University.
All immigration-related matters are governed by Korean immigration laws and regulations. Failure to comply with reporting requirements may result in immigration-related penalties
1. Applicability
This notice applies to foreign nationals holding an E-1 (Professor) visa who:
- Were previously employed at another university or institution in Korea, and- Have changed their workplace to Woosong University
Such individuals are required to report the change of workplace to the competent Immigration Office within 15 days from the date the change occurs.
2. Reporting Procedure
1) Preparation of Required Documents2) Submission to the Immigration Office
The applicant submits the report of workplace change to the competent local Immigration Office in Korea.
3) Review and Confirmation
The Korean Immigration Service reviews the submitted documents and records the change of workplace.
3. Required Documents
(Documents may vary depending on individual circumstances)
- Completed application form (provided by the Immigration Office)- Passport (original and one photocopy)
- Alien Registration Card (ARC) (original and one photocopy)
- Release letter from the previous employer
- Copy of faculty appointment or employment agreement
- Certificate of employment
- Housing-related documents:
▷ Woosong faculty housing: Housing provision certificate
- Copy of Woosong University business registration
(prepared by the Human Resources Office)
- Foreigner occupation report form
(provided by the Immigration Office)
- Certificate of income (issuable from the Hometax website)
- Minutes of the personnel committee meeting
(prepared by the Human Resources Office)
4. Important Notes
- The change of workplace must be reported within 15 days from the effective date of the change.- Failure to report the workplace change within the required period may result in fines or other immigration-related consequences in accordance with Korean law.
- Employment activities at Woosong University must comply with the conditions of the E-1 (Professor) visa.
